Koper is the largest port town in Slovenia. One of its oldest and biggest trading partners is Venice, Italy. This is a very old town dating far back well in to the late 4th or 5th century. Much of the architecture is varied depending upon who was ruling the place at any one time.

You can visit the ever so famous Praetorian Palace which was built during a time when the greatest influence on this city was Italy. Here you will find many historical artifacts and the rich tapestry of cultures that influenced this area.

For the Praetorian Palace is located in the south end of Titov trg and you can definitely see the Venetian Gothic and Renaissance style the forms the palace. This place was the palace of the mayor and you can see the many shields and coats of arms that adorn the outside. Thankfully there is a tourist information office located within the palace so you can then plan your trip accordingly.

As with most conquered areas the foods of the conquerors were intermingled into local fare to create some unique and wonderful dishes that you should try if you are in town. Much of the food will obviously be influenced by the strong Italian heritage but you can also see the Slavonic heritage in many of the local dishes.

A favorite thing to do with many tourists is just to wander aimlessly in the old city center. Here you will find many restaurants, shops and other boutique stores that cater to the varying tastes of those that come to this town. While this may not be a destination for some it is certainly worth spending a day on your trip to somewhere else. There is plenty to see in one day for this small town.

For many first time cruisers there may be some questions as to what amenities are available aboard a cruise ship. Many cruise lines have pretty much the standard level of amenities that are common among all cruise lines.

All major cruise liners have dining halls, restaurants and cafeterias as food seems to be one of the defining aspects of any cruise. Some of the larger cruise ships offer a variety of on board food choices. Some of these restaurants are considered upscale dining and are not included in your price of the cruise and may require a reservation beforehand. Always try to schedule any special meal you have planned well in advance. If you can schedule a reservation before you even board the better off you will be to get the best table on the ship.

Now food is one of the most common staples of any cruise ship but then so are dance halls. Depending on the size of the ship the dance halls may be of varying sizes and also cater to different age groups. Try and find out what your cruise ship offers beforehand so you are not disappointed.

If you are traveling with a teenager then you are probably going to be interested in the video arcades, sports facilities and other activities that are geared towards that age group. Always make sure you know the cruise ship’s policy on adult supervision before you allow your children to roam about the ship. You are with a whole lot of strangers and you do not want anything horrible to happen to your children while you are trying to have a vacation.

Most of the major cruise ships now offer some sort of gym facility so that you can keep up your exercise routine while aboard. For many passengers excersing is the best way to deal with the stresses of life and these cruise ships cater to those people concerned with their health. Not only that many cruise ships offer some sort of personalized training along with a gym as you can make an appointment with a personal trainer who can set up your future workouts so that you can attain your fitness goals. Many of these types of offerings are offered free of charge as they are included in your cost of the ticket aboard the ship.

For those that like to take chances in life there are is usually a place where you can perform some soft of gambling activity. These activities usually include slots, blackjack and sometimes organized poker tables. You should be very careful and not try to bet what you cannot cover as you will have to settle accounts before you leave the ship.

If you are looking to perform one particular activity then it is vital that you check beforehand if that cruise ship actually has it onboard. You do not wish to be disappointed during your entire vacation do you?

A cruise is an ideal family vacation if set up correctly. All of the activities and events are in one place and you can usually have a great time with you child. However many may be wondering what activities can be performed with children under the age of twelve aboard a cruise ship. Hopefully I will try to enlighten you on that matter.

One of the most popular activities aboard a cruise ship is the video arcades. The larger the ship the more variety of video games the ship will have. Many of these games are geared towards young children and sometimes you can even participate and have some fun yourself. Many of these arcades are usually staffed with some soft of cruise ship employee as that is to keep things in order and sometimes even to act as a babysitter when you can not personally accompany them.

One of the most common among all cruise lines is the swimming pool. Be sure to go with the area that is geared towards the younger age children. You do not want to intermingle your child among the more adult pools or they may end up seeing something they are not ready for. Also swimming is ideal as there is usually a lifeguard on duty to watch over your child. But please keep in mind that ultimately the safety of your child rests in your hands and not the cruise ship and you may have to sign something to that effect before you board the ship.

For many family oriented cruise lines there may be a whole range of activities that are geared towards young children. Be sure to check the itinerary beforehand so that you can plan out your days and maximize the fun you can have. The Disney Cruise line for instance if famous for its shows that are obviously geared towards the younger age set and this is an ideal place to be for your small children.

There may be specific restaurants and other café’s that are geared towards younger children. This is especially the case when you are dealing with well known family cruise lines. Each ship will have different restaurants that may have themes that your child may like. Just some research on the Internet and you may find the ideal cruise ship that will really make the vacation worth remembering for your children.

Some cruise lines offer some sort of child care facilities so that you can break away from your children for a bit and enjoy some adult time with your mate or someone you may be dating.

So do not fret or fear to bring a child along on a cruise ship. If you can afford it then this may be an ideal place for both you and your children to have a great time and forget your worries back home.

Vacationing is very necessary in today’s troubled times. A time to get away from it all and just relax seems just one of those luxuries that no one wants to give up. However the cost of going on a cruise ship can rapidly add up. There is a cost with every drink, every massage or meal you may partake of. You can just hear the cash registers dinging away as you are aboard the cruise ship.

However there may be an alternative to this and that is all inclusive cruise ships. These are cruise ships where just about everything is already included in the price of the cruise. However the cost of some of the other services may be extra and added to your bill at the end of your stay. Always make sure ahead of time what you are getting for your cruise and that you periodically check on your balance with the ships cashier office. I have seen many times people just shocked at how much they have spent on any single cruise. Since most of the time you are having fun you forget about the charges that are adding up very fast.

In order to make up for all these supposed free drinks and meals the cost of the cruise will typically be much higher then many other similar cruises in the that same area. You must keep in mind that the cruise lines have to make up for the money they would not normally receive from passengers that choose the pay as you go route. Because some may choose to take advantage of their all inclusive cruise to the fullest extent possible you may see many vacationers over indulge on food and alcohol. This is just normal on many cruise ships as some do not know when to cut themselves off from having a good time. Normally there is not too many unruly passengers on any cruise ship as the ship security can take care of that quietly and without anyone really noticing.

All inclusive cruises have their advantages but there are some real disadvantages to them as well. You should always weigh carefully if this is the route you wish to pursue as it may end up costing you more money then if you just went as a pay as you go traveler.

Either way you cut it cruising can be one fun way to see a lot of places in a short amount of time without having to unpack your bags. Having just one spot where all your clothes are located is a great way to save on the hassle of packing and unpacking each time you want to go and see someplace new. This makes cruising an ideal way to see a lot of places without too much hassle.

Spring break is the one time when many hard working college students can unwind for a short amount of time before heading back to the long hours of studying and prepping for classes. Many college students are now choosing to spend their spring breaks aboard cruise ships.

Many college students simply choose to spend their time aboard a cruise ship at some of the most popular places where college students flock to when there is a break. The destinations are usually just the hot spots where most college students go to have fun. However some break free from this mold and choose to go their own route and not follow the crowd. This simply makes sense as sometimes you just want to unwind in a different manner then some of your other classmates.

Many cruise ships are geared towards the ideal spring break vacation and many of them are already ready for many spring break vacationers to come aboard and have fun. The major cruise lines such as Carnival, Royal Caribbean and Costa Cruises are geared towards the constant partying and dancing the night away. As a recommendation I would definitely stay away from the family oriented cruise lines and those that are geared towards couples. There is just too much possibility for confrontation and you could end up really regretting the choice you made because you will not only harm your own vacation but that of many other families and small children. Not a good way to spend a spring break.

I would seek out cruise lines that are geared towards the adventure traveler. These are more geared towards the college age set and you will run into far fewer problems and there will be far many more activities that you may enjoy. As always be careful on your cruise and try to avoid fights or confrontations with other guests aboard the ship. You are there to have a good time and not for it to be ruined by some lack of judgment by yourself or some other careless cruiser.

Every single year millions take a cruise. For the majority of them this a time for having fun, getting away from it all and seeing some place new and exciting. However recently the news has reported some of the darker side of the cruise ship industry. Sometimes you see reports of people missing or assaults and deaths aboard s a cruise ship. The reality of this is that this is rare among the cruise ship lines. You can stay safe aboard a cruise ship if just follow a few simple precautions.

The first thing you should do is make sure you have all of your documents in order and ready for any major event. Truly being safe begins before you even board the cruise ship. Plan ahead and make sure you have enough medicine or anything you may need if you were stuck for an extended period of time away from home. You should have your passport, drivers license, and any other visas and extra cash.

Once onboard the cruise ship make sure that you familiarize yourself with its layout. If there are maps available then grab one and keep it handy in case you get lost. Some of the larger cruise ships have decks that all look alike so it is important that you remember your room number in case you should need to go back to it in a hurry.

When you are traveling inside the cruise ship try not to do this alone as you may become a victim of a crime. When you travel in pairs or in a group you are less likely to be run into trouble. Treat being on a cruise ship as you would any unknown place.

When it comes to theft in any place cash and credit cards are the most likely sought after items and you should always use the provided safe as that is one of the most secure places to keep your belongings while you enjoy your stay aboard the cruise ship. If you have a money pouch or some other way of keeping money on you that is not the most obvious then you are encouraged to use it. If you can divide your money and keep small stashes of money on you in different places then this is one of the best ways to getting completely cleaned out.

Always use common sense when you are aboard the cruise ship. Do not do anything aboard the cruise ship that you would not do on land. Do not flash lots of money or jewelry to other passengers as this will simply display how much money you have available to steal later on. If something does not feel right then walk away and go towards where there is a crowd of people such as a bar or nightclub. Look for others to walk you back to your cabin if you do not feel safe being alone.

You can be safe on your next cruise as long as you keep your wits about you and you do not fall into any common traps that many thieves employ. Just because you are staying on a cruise ship does not mean you should not take care of yourself as if you were any other place.

I am sure many have seen the ads. Cruise the world for free! Like many of you I was skeptical. I mean it sounds great but really what is involved? Well I broke down and actually bought the ebook. I have to say that I am not disappointed by what I got. This ebook explains in detail the step by step course you need to take in order to take cruises for free.

There is one caveat that you must be able to do in order to really be successful at this type of travel. You must at least like public speaking. For many speaking in public is worse then death but that can be overcome by taking some local courses at your community college or even joining your local Toastmasters if you should have one available in your area.

When I downloaded this ebook and read what was inside I found that pretty much anyone can be a speaker on cruise ships. Many of the larger cruise ships have many entertainment options for their guests and because many of the clientele are highly educated they want to learn something on their vacation. You can provide that by offering your skills you have learned in a hobby or at your current employment. Everyone has something to offer the world and this program that the cruise line offers lets those that are willing to share their expertise some free time on their cruise ships.

Now the cost of this ebook is pretty steep however when you compare the cost of cruising then this ebook will pay for itself after your first cruise. Just imagine being able to cruise whenever you wanted and not having to pay for any of it. Now you will have to pay for your shore excursions but Daniel Hall has you covered as he includes a guide that will save you money on your planned shore excursions.

If you want to be able to save money and cruise the world while sharing what you know to others then please buy this ebook. It is well worth the price and will give you what you need in order to be a successful speaker on the cruise lines. Just imagine all the places you can see. Go and buy this ebook and find out for yourself.

Dubrovnik is an ancient city located on the Adriatic sea. Now part of modern day Croatia this town has seen its turmoil’s. This town certainly is one of the most predominant tourist attractions on the Adriatic. Since ancient times the wealth of the city has been dependent on its maritime activities.

The name of the city has varied over the years. However the modern name of the city was given it by the Austro Hungarian empire that adopted the name in 1909. Before then this city was known in Italy and other western nations as Ragusa.

In 1991 the republics of Croatia and Slovenia broke away from what was then Yugoslavia. This led to the conflict that was named as the siege of Dubrovnik which lasted 7 months. Many parts of the old town suffered from shelling during time period but much of the town has been restored according to guidelines outlined by UNESCO.

When you visit this city it is best to come when they are holding the Dubrovnik Summer Festival. At that time all of the artists who come to the city are given keys to the city and the town just breaks from its usual routine and becomes something more then it was intended. If y ou cannot make it during this time period the city also celebrates the Sveti Vlaho (Saint Blaise) on February 3rd. This celebration is marked by parades and other outdoor festivities.

While the conflict and tension may still exist Dubrovnik is still worth getting off the ship to visit. It is like stepping back into a time machine in many respects as much of the town is still standing from the old days.

Genoa is the city of ancient Ligurians and is probably named after their word for knee. Of all the cities in Italy Genoa is perhaps one of the most predominantly Italian. Much of the population perhaps close to 95% is Italian. This gives the city a unique feel that makes the city worth visiting.

The history of Genoa goes back to the Ligures which was an ancient Italian tribe. What is known is that a ancient cemetery occupied by the Greeks that date back to the 5th and 6th centuries prove that this city has been around for quite a while. Much of the ancient times for the city saw the city ransacked and later rebuilt time and again. The war with the Carthaginians in 209 B.C. was one of the more famous wars when the city was destroyed.

Later on the city of Genoa became a lesser known fishing port which seemed to have spared it further conflict with other nations. Also this city is notable in that this is one of the first places where the Italian citizens received rights under feudal law.

Modern times have seen the slow and steady decline of the city however as its importance as a trade and economic power diminish over the years. This does not mean the city has not been crucial in some of the world’s history. Now rather it is just that as more cities have gained prominence Genoa has seen a steady decline in influence.

The main attractions of the city are centered around Piazza de Ferrari which contain the Opera house and the Palaces of the Doges. Another interesting sight to see is St. Lawrence Cathedral which was founded in the 5th or 6th centuries A.D. and is devoted to St. Sirus bishop of Genoa. For those that like aquariums this city has you covered with the Aquarium of Genoa which is one of the largest in the whole of Europe. Like something out of the port town of Alexandria this town has an ancient lighthouse called Torre della Lanterna or the tower of the latern.

Either way you cut it the city of Genoa is definitely worth visiting on your cruise around the Mediterranean as it seems to have something for everyone.

The city of Alexandria is a very well known port in the Mediterranean sea and is the second largest city in Egypt. Historically this town is known to contain two of the seven wonders of the world and those are the lighthouse of the Alexandria and the library of Alexandria.

As you might imagine the city was actually founded by Alexander the Great in 332 B.C. however the cities expansion can be accounted to Cleomenes who was left behind to take care of the city as Alexander moved east ward to conquer more of the world. What is really interesting of the history of this city is that this was once home to one of the largest Jewish communities in the world. Not only that the Greek Septuagint, was produced here.

If you plan on visiting ancient Alexandria you may be disappointed as much of the city sank into the city due to earthquake subsidence and then the more modern city was rebuilt on top of the ruins. So from an archeological perspective much of the city is buried under what you see in modern times. However that is not to say that there are not remants of the ancient city existing today. Pompey’s Pillar is one of the best known examples of the architecture that existed during the rule of Alexander the Great.

Many tourists however do not come to the city of Alexandria to see ancient ruins. Rather there are some really great beaches in this town and the most famous one is Maamoura Beach. This beach is well known for its clear waters and well kept beach which attracts many tourists from Egypt and the surrounding countries. This is perhaps one of the most frequented tourist areas in the Middle East.
